I do love the new template, but I’m already wanting to change some things about it. I think that’s one of the most wonderful things about template systems, if nothing else you get inspiration. There are elements about this that I love, and some that I don’t care for as I use it. I’m home for the day, I have knitting to do and I’m going to sit and think it out.
The idea of starting from scratch makes me want to pull my hair out, but making small changes is something I don’t mind, of course small changes for me mean completely reworking something to the point that it would probably be easier to start from scratch. I’ll let you know if the hair ends up on the floor.
This was one of those patterns that jumped out at me. I had been sitting on the yarn for some time and couldn’t decide what to do with it. The pattern was featured in Spin-Off, the Summer 08 issue along with an awesome gallery of examples in all different types of yarn.

If you don’t have access to the mag, you can get the pattern at HeartStrings Fiber Arts
The yarn itself is some hand spun that I did with some roving from Hello Yarn, which was one of my first attempts at a lace weight. It’s uneven but that’s part of the beauty of it now.

Thanks for the comments, hope this gives the rest of you some inspiration to try it with something you have lying around.
I’ve mentioned that I got the laptop to use for writing, and while I’ve set some programs up, and have a basic outline for the story, the majority of it is still stewing around in my head. My problem is that I have an unknown element that drives one of the characters. Her looking for her own answers is part of what has brought her to where she is as things open up. My dilemma, is do I come up with the answer or do I leave it unknown. I know there are those that like a mystery element, but there are as many people that have to have everything explained, and I understand both sides of the argument.
My issue with it is that I’ve always just said “we will not find out” and now that’s not quite true. I’m getting stuck with some bits relating to this, because I think whether it’s ever put to paper or not, I have to know in my head where she is going and where she came from. It’s getting twisted and tossed about quite a bit, but I am slowly working out some ideas concerning her past.
So what do you think, I know there’s not much here to go on but, do you prefer to read something and have it all out on the table at the end, or is it better to have someone walk away with things left unfinished? There is potential in leaving things unfinished in this part, to continue this character’s story later on, but I’m not going to worry about that until I get this first one finished.
