We’re planning a movie out with the kid today, his choice because his birthday is tomorrow. Later today we’re heading out to meet up with some WoW geeks for dinner. Should be fun, finally getting to put some faces with names and voices.

Lego Robots and You…
Comments OffThe kid has been a part of the robotics team at his school for the last 2 years. They’re taking their bot to the regional competition today, so I’m going to be sitting around with a couple hundred little geek kids in a confined space. Ohhhh so much fun!!
The contest is broken down into several parts, the robot has to run a predefined set of tasks on a course, a technical interview and a problem solving presentation based on the theme for the year. I was amazed last year with some of the ideas the kids came up with, and after sitting around trying to herd them like cats for 6 months, to watch them all come together and pull an impressive technical explanation of why they built things the way they did, it proves that under all the silliness and general kid blathering, there are some really creative brains at work.
