Coping Skills…I have none

Comments Off

As of last night, it has begun, the stress of being a parent of a teenager. I got a call from the kid, who’s over at his dad’s house. “Can you pick me up tomorrow night at 9?”

After about 5 minutes of back and forth avoidance, I discovered that there is a school dance tonight, and there will be free food and “stuff”. Now in the past, dances have been on the eye roll list unless his friends were all going, so I’m wondering why this one is so important that he HAS to be there. I know the answer, but I’m refusing to deal with that right now, it’s bad enough that he’s going to be able to drive in two years.

Nothing says Xmas like WoW geeks :)

I’m copying this from the official WoW forums, because it’s too good to get lost in the shuffle. Credit to Koronis on the Zul’jin server for giving us this lovely bit of entertainment

Every Toon
Down in Azeroth
Liked Winter Veil a lot…
But the Lich King,
who lived in Northrend,
Did NOT!

The Lich King hated Winter Veil! The whole Winter Veil season!
Now, please don’t ask why. Only lore geeks know the reason.
It could be that Frostmourne had corrupted him outright.
It could be, perhaps, that he suffers from frostbite.
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that Jaina broke his heart in Westfall.

Whole Foods goodness

I love the Whole Foods store, and as such, I avoid it like the plague. If we do need to venture into the land of unusual produce and imported cheese, it is preferable that only one member of the family goes in at a time, because we can double the bill just by going in as a couple. It gets worse if the kid is there too. I am totally in love with their Sonoma chicken salad, and make a point of grabbing it whenever I go, with the excuse that it will make a nice lunch when I’m home by myself. They have the recipe on their website. I was worried that it wouldn’t be the same, it is. I have a big container in the fridge, and now, I have to hide it from the kid.
