I’ve had a fear of colorwork since I started knitting. It’s not that anything seemed hard, it’s just that I’ve always been more of a solid color person. Guess it just takes finding the right piece, or maybe I’ve accepted the fact that patterns are cool…
Just like bow ties and fezes
I used to laugh at my dad about getting up early in the morning, but it looks like I’m on a roll this week for doing the same thing. I’m at my parents’ house for the weekend. Dad had surgery last week, and my brother came over to stay for a few days. Everything went fine, and he’s up and about. I think the only problem is that he’s feeling better than he should.
It’s been a running joke with my husband for years, that as soon as we get here, I start falling asleep on the couch. I think part of it is being somewhere where you don’t have to worry about anything. That and the fact that the couch is really comfortable for sleeping.
I’ll be heading back home Sunday. Next week I’m going to start trying to get some organizing done in my computer room. Throwing around ideas about working out of the house did make me realize how cluttered things are, so something is definitely going to get done about it this week.
The weekend was busy and crazy on top of that due to the con, but all in all, it was a fun time. Part of my problem is that I was buzzing from being in a huge crowd most of the weekend and lack of sleep fueled some insane ideas. Not that the idea wasn’t good, it’s just that I didn’t really start thinking things through until now, and it ended up being a lot bigger than I wanted to deal with.
I still think the overall business is a good idea, but the time, effort and money to get it rolling just are not here at the moment. I really don’t want to do something half way and then realize that I didn’t plan for things. So now, it’s back burner and I’ll wait until I get everything in perspective.
