Washington DC is one of those rare locations that should be considered “northern” but takes some lessons from those of us in the south. In addition to schools being closed when there is threat of bad weather, you will find that most stores are running low on bread, eggs, and milk. I would have thought that someone would have taken the time to brief you that there is a special French Toast Celebration that takes place randomly throughout the winter months.
I know that here in Georgia, this festive day will occur at least 3 times during the winter months. I suggest getting together with the person in charge of stocking the pantry and make sure you have a nice selection of syrups available at all times.
Yours truly,
Stepford Mom

Did someone say the “S” or “I” word?
I had a good laugh explaining the phrase “frozen precipitation” and why it’s used here in the South. It was even funnier that I was explaining it to a Canadian who was dealing with what their news was calling Snowmageddon.
