You know those days where you wake up and everything goes to hell in a handbasket within ten minutes, and then you say it will get better and it doesn’t. By noon you’re sitting on the floor in the middle of a mess that you can’t fix and it would be easier just to go back to bed….

yeah, it’s something like that

More knitting than gaming

I’ve been doing a lot more knitting than I’m writing about. I have good reason as well, my sister in law just had a baby so I have an excuse to make cute little things like this. In looking at the site and the pattern this was based on, I realized I had the magazine issue with the original pattern in adult sizes too. So now I’m looking at making matching sweaters and shipping them off to England, where they will actually get used :)

On the gaming front, we’re four bosses down in SSC and looking to take a peek at Hyjal over the weekend. Did I mention that no druid loot ever drops when I’m on a run lately? If I’m not there, it drops right and left, take the Mayfield in, and nothing, nada, zilch, no gear at all. Something good better be coming my way, because I’m sitting on dkp that needs to be spent.

So I lied…

I cast on a new pair of socks last night. It’s a strange thing, knitting and raiding in game do go well together, but only if you have knitting that you can pick up and put down without too much effort. The sweater and scarves that I’m working on have detailed patterns that require a bit of concentration, so I grabbed some sock yarn and started up a new pair last night. Twisted rib is good for stop and start knitting. Of course the whole idea of finishing off things before starting new ones went completely out the window, but I don’t care. I’m still ahead of the game for now, the rogue is about half done. The body is done and shoulders are seamed, it’s just the sleeves and hood to go.

I also found a copy of Alice Starmore’s Aran Knitting at the Georgia State library and I’m jumping up and down over the opportunity to be able to see those patterns.
