We hit B&N yesterday to pick up some ruby manuals for the husband and I found a couple books that ended up following me home as well. Rowan is one of those groups of designers that can go from ‘Oh wow I must make that now in 10 different colors and wear nothing else ever again” to “Oh wow what the hell were they smoking when they came up with that one” in a single turn of a page. Luckily Knitting for Him manages to be a book full of the first statement. The husband said he liked some of them. This doesn’t mean that he’s getting a sweater, because he complains about them being too warm here in Georgia, but it means that I can make him one that I can wear. (yes a plan so cunning you can stick a tail on it and call it a weasel)

Next into the shopping cart was Knit Kimono, some are a bit more than I would want to deal with, and I’m not one of those people that finds the need to wear quirky ethnic clothing to be cool, but a few of the designs are dead on awesome, great long lounge around the house looking fabulous kind of things that I want to wear when I win the lottery and can sit around and watch someone else don the pearls and push the dyson around.

Last but cutest is a book of Amigurumi, there was a small squee that may have happened in the store while looking through this one, but I’m not going to say it was me. We’ll all just agree, nod and move on from there.

Looks like I’m going to have a lot to do now. I am trying to finish up a few things to ship over to my sister in law for her new baby, and some net friends just let it slip that they’re expecting as well. I have much to do, but now I can make cute little toys to go with the clothes.
