Finished projects

Comments Off

I finished off the cobblestone sweater for the kid last night, it’s drying now, so pictures will be forthcoming.  I promised that I would finish that one, and the pair of socks that I’m about 3 inches of foot from finishing as well, before I started on anything else.

The problem is that a few weeks ago I bought some cashmere lace weight and I’ve been driving myself nuts trying to decide what to do with it.  There’s one shawl pattern in the Victorian Lace book I have that I think will be great with the colors I have, so needless to say I decided to go ahead and cast on.  I have spent the last hour not getting through the first two rows.  I can’t count, it’s official.  I think it’s a combination of a provisional cast on and very fine yarn, I’m just having a hell of a time counting to 70.

I’m taking a break to eat some lunch.

Kitchen clean up

I’ve spent the whole morning going through the cabinets and pantry throwing away over half of the things on the shelves.  I’m really bad for letting things expire, and with being on a diet with pre packaged foods, I don’t look in my cabinets most days.  Over the weekend I got a urge to cook though, and I realized that I really miss doing it.  So as of today I’m back to cooking meals and I’m going to put the whole planned thing on a back burner.

I also did a run to the Container Store, which is a bad bad place where I should not be allowed to be unsupervised.  My pantry is full of pretty clear square containers with labels now.  It almost looks like someone has a clue about what they’re doing in that room of the house.

Sad news

I was just looking through my stats and such and always check out the key word searches people use, it makes me snicker :) I noticed a few for Dr. Shock and Dingbat and did some googling and found this. It seems that the guy that played Dr. Shock just recently passed away.
